Nutrition of population living on the territory polluted after the Chernobyl accident is unsatisfactory. Structure of nutrition is inadequate, vitamin quantity insufficient. Recommendations on improvement of population nutrition are given.

A total of 247 patients with diseases of the abdominal organs were examined. 32 patients with rectal tumors were singled out. The diagnosis of "minor" colorectal cancer was particularly difficult.

To make a comparative assessment of transesophageal left atrial pacing (TLAP) and bicycle ergometry (BE) in the diagnosis of coronary heart disease (CHD) in patients with arterial hypertension (AH) of different origin, the authors examined 56 patients. The patients underwent TLAP and selective coronary angiography, of them 39 patients had BE testing. No significant differences were found in their specificity (73 and 78%) and sensitivity (92 and 81%) between TLAP and BE, respectively.

Medical-purpose elastic materials based on siloxane rubbers and items made from them.

Vulcanization of the unsaturated siloxane rubbers with silicon hydrides of various structure (organohydrosiloxanes, organohydrosilazanes, organohydrosilanes) was investigated for the purpose of creating biologically-compatible materials with a high complex of medical and engineering properties. The effect of the silicon hydride structure on the vulcanization process and properties of the produced rubbers was identified. The basis sanitary and hygienic indices of rubbers were studied.

The influence of connective tissue on the biological value of meat products, manufactured from hashed meat, was studied in experiments on growing rats. It was shown that collagen level increase from 6.1 to 14.

[The effect of food fiber on the biological value of meat products].

The effect of food fibres of wheat bran, beet pectin and methylcellulose on the biological value of meat proteins has been studied in experiments on the growing rats. It has been shown, that up to 1% on food fibres of wheat bran and up to 0.5% of pectin and methylcellulose can be added to meat products without spoiling their qualitative indices.

[Changes in systemic and intracardiac hemodynamics during bicycle ergometry in patients with fibrillation arrhythmia treated with allapinin before and after sinus rhythm recovery].

[Left ventricular function (based on two-dimensional echocardiographic data) during bicycle ergometry and transesophageal electrical stimulation of the atria in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy].

The central hemodynamics was studied and compared in 20 patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCMP) at rest, during bicycle ergometry (BEM) and transesophageal pacing of the atria (TEPA). According to the BEM readings, HCMP patients did not show any material differences from normals' reaction to exercise on the part of the volumetric and hemodynamic parameters as well as left ventricle contractile function. At the same time as revealed by TEPA, HCMP patients did manifest differences from normals' response in the hemodynamics and myocardial contractility.

[Functional state of the left and right heart ventricles in chronic alcoholic damage to the heart (findings of two-dimensional echocardiography)].

Twenty eight patients aged 31 to 56 years with Stages II-III chronic alcoholism were examined. All the patients underwent a thorough clinical, X-ray, and instrumental studies which provided the possibility to exclude coronary artery and valve diseases. Two-dimensional echocardiography revealed that chronic alcoholics had profound ventricular dysfunctions.

[The effect of silicone resin for medical use on the balance of calcium fractions in human blood serum].

Influence of polymeric material upon the character of formation of ion calcium complexes in the blood serum of man was demonstrated and described by following parameters: quantity of binding sites, equilibrium constant for association and Hill's coefficient. These indexes were proposed to be used as evaluation criterion of calcinosis predisposition in articles used for artificial organs.
