Furanocoumarins (FCs) are plant defence compounds derived from the phenylpropanoid pathway via the coumarin umbelliferone that harbour some therapeutic benefits yet are the underlying cause of 'grapefruit-drug interactions' in humans. Most of the pathway genes have not been identified in citrus. We employed a genetic/Omics approach on citrus ancestral species and F1 populations of mandarin × grapefruit and mandarin × pummelo.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of a tailored PCa-SCP intervention provided to early-stage PCa survivors.
Materials And Methods: A prospective, parallel 1:1 randomized controlled trial was conducted at 3 sites across Canada.
Graph convolutional neural networks have shown significant potential in natural and histopathology images. However, their use has only been studied in a single magnification or multi-magnification with either homogeneous graphs or only different node types. In order to leverage the multi-magnification information and improve message passing with graph convolutional networks, we handle different embedding spaces at each magnification by introducing the Multi-Scale Relational Graph Convolutional Network (MS-RGCN) as a multiple instance learning method.

A selection of perfluoropolyether (PFPE)-urethane methacrylate and acrylate resins, free-radical photo-initiator Omnirad 2100, and two distinct silane-based crosslinking agents were blended under a weight ratio of 75:20:5 (without crosslinker) and 70:15:5:10, respectively. The coatings were cured under a UV LED 4 × 3 matrix light emitting source, in a chamber under a controlled atmosphere, by means of an in-house developed conveyor belt type platform, at different conveyor belt speeds (5, 50, 150, 250, and 500 mm/s).

This study examines the value of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT)-informed surgery and RT in patients with BCR treated without systemic therapy.
Methods: This is a post-hoc subgroup analysis of a prospective clinical trial.
Brenner tumors (BTs) are surface-epithelial stromal cell tumors that are categorized by the World Health Organization as benign, borderline, and malignant. Due to the rarity of BTs, the published literature on these tumors is comprised primarily of case reports and small retrospective studies. We performed a pathology database review spanning the last ten years at our institution revealing nine reported benign BTs.

However, they are relatively perishable and suffer from flavor deterioration after harvest. The goal of the current study was to examine the effects of commercial packinghouse operations on the flavor of 'Orri' mandarins.

Finally, an additional expert nurse clinician summarizes the care plan and commentaries, emphasizing takeaways about the patient, the commentaries, and additional recommendations to manage the patient. As can happen in clinical practice, the patient's care plan is intentionally incomplete and does not include all pertinent information.

This framework serves three purposes: (1) to promote high-quality studies and streamline the peer review process; (2) to enhance reproducibility, comparability, and interpretability of results; and (3) to improve engagement and literacy of machine learning within the urological community.

Open simple prostatectomy remains the most common procedure performed for large prostates. There is a need for novel surgical approaches with shorter learning curves and effective treatment.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA combination of acrylate formulations and SiO nanoparticles is investigated with the aim to improve the optical properties of low-refractive index polymers that are used for the fabrication of planar optical waveguides. A decrease in refractive index and also in the thermo-optic coefficient of nanocomposite materials is clearly demonstrated, while some formulations exhibit an increase in the glass transition temperature. The possibility of using these nanocomposite materials to fabricate waveguiding layers with low optical propagation losses at telecommunication wavelengths around 1550 nm is also shown.

Automatic PCa classification of digitized H&E slides has been developed before, but no attempts have been made to classify PCa using additional tissue stains registered to H&E. In this paper, we demonstrate that using H&E, Ki67 and p63-stained (3-stain) tissue improves PCa classification relative to H&E alone.

Materials And Methods: Between September-December 2017, 101 men with moderate-to-severe BPH symptoms and prostate volumes of 80-150 cc underwent an ultrasound-guided robotically executed Aquablation procedure in a prospective multicenter international clinical trial (WATER II). Baseline, procedural and follow up parameters were recorded at baseline and scheduled postoperative visits.
Objective: To compare the outcomes of Aquablation in 30-80 mL prostates with those in 80-150 mL prostates. Surgical options, especially with short learning curves, are limited when treating large prostates for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). However, this process is time-consuming and subject to high inter-observer variability. Machine learning-based methods have the potential to improve efficient throughput of large volumes of slides while decreasing variability, but they are not easy to develop because they require substantial amounts of labeled training data.

Methods: We used electronic medical records for a cohort of men diagnosed with prostate cancer (PC) who attended a PC-related appointment at the Vancouver Prostate Centre, January 2013-December 2016. We used multivariate logistic regression to quantify the effect of diagnostic treatment and sociodemographic characteristic PCSC program registration and subsequent attendance.
Objective: To report 12-month safety and effectiveness outcomes of the Aquablation procedure for the treatment of men with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and large-volume prostates.
Methods: One hundred and one men with moderate-to-severe BPH symptoms and prostate volumes of 80-150 cc underwent a robotic-assisted Aquablation procedure in a prospective multicenter international clinical trial. Functional and safety outcomes were assessed at 12 months postoperatively.
To identify factors governing peel-color development in mandarins, we examined carotenoid content and composition and the expression of carotenoid-related genes during four stages of ripening (i.e., green, breaker, yellow, and orange) in two varieties: 'Ora', which has orange fruit, and 'Shani', which has orange-reddish fruit.
