Background: Positive pressure ventilation (PPV) is an essential component of neonatal resuscitation. Meta-analytic evidence suggests that, among late preterm and term newborn infants who require resuscitation after birth, a supraglottic airway (SA) device is more effective than a face mask at reducing the probability of PPV failure and reducing the need for endotracheal intubation. However, SA devices are rarely used in routine practice in hospital delivery room settings within the United States.

Radioligand therapy (RLT) with lutetium (Lu) oxodotreotide is an approved therapy in combination with somatostatin analogues (SSAs) for patients with advanced, well-differentiated G1-G2, gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs) that progress on SSAs. We conducted a series of round table meetings throughout Italy to identify issues related to RLT delivery to patients with GEP-NETs. Four key issues were identified: (1) the proper definition of tumour progression prior to RLT initiation; (2) the impact of RLT in patients with bone metastases and/or high hepatic tumour burden; (3) the optimal follow-up protocol after RLT; and (4) organisational issues related to RLT use and managerial implications.

The widespread adoption of gene panel testing for cancer predisposition is leading to the identification of an increasing number of individuals with clinically relevant allelic variants in two or more genes. The potential combined effect of these variants on cancer risks is mostly unknown, posing a serious problem for genetic counseling in these individuals and their relatives, in whom the variants may segregate singly or in combination. We report a female patient who developed triple-negative high grade carcinoma in the right breast at the age of 36 years.

Antibiotic resistance is an important and emerging alarm for public health that requires development of new potential antibacterial strategies. In recent years, nanoscale materials have emerged as an alternative way to fight pathogens. Many researchers have shown great interest in nanoparticles (NPs) using noble metals, such as silver, gold, and platinum, even though numerous nanomaterials have shown toxicity.

Unlabelled: Despite recommendations promoting noninvasive delivery room (DR) ventilation, local historical preterm DR noninvasive ventilation rates were low (50%-64%). Project aims were to improve DR noninvasive ventilation rate in very low birth weight (VLBW) neonates (<1500 g) with a focus on decreasing DR intubations for ineffective positive pressure ventilation (PPV).

Methods: We addressed drivers for improving noninvasive ventilation and decreasing intubations for ineffective PPV through plan-do-study-act cycles.

When perceiving emotional facial expressions, adults use a template-matching strategy, comparing the perceived face with a stored representation. A rejection of unnaturally exaggerated faces is characteristic of this strategy because the exaggerated expressions do not match the stored template. In contrast, a rule-based perceptual strategy (e.

This paper proposes a new approach to estimating investor sentiments and their implications for the global financial markets. Contextualising the COVID-19 pandemic, we draw on the six behavioural indicators (media coverage, fake news, panic, sentiment, media hype and infodemic) of the 17 largest economies and data from January 2020 to February 2021. Our key findings, obtained using a time-varying parameter-vector auto-regression (TVP-VAR) model, indicate the total and net connectedness for the new index, entitled 'feverish sentiment'.

Global-scale gradient-based groundwater models are a new endeavor for hydrologists who wish to improve global hydrological models (GHMs). In particular, the integration of such groundwater models into GHMs improves the simulation of water flows between surface water and groundwater and of capillary rise and thus evapotranspiration. Currently, these models are not able to simulate water table depth adequately over the entire globe.
