Phosphorus (Pi) is an essential nutrient for plants to sustain normal life processes. In this study, we found that the ZmPHO1 proteins had similar molecular weights and the same conserved domain. Phylogenetic and cis-acting element analysis showed that ZmPHO1s were divided into 4 subgroups, in which ZmPHO1;2a and ZmPHO1;2b were closely phylogenetic with OsPHO1;2b, and the promoter region of ZmPHO1s contained abundant abiotic stress-related elements.

Free radical polymerization was initiated with ammonium persulfate (APS), and N, N'-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) served as the crosslinking agent to fabricate the grafted polymer hydrogels. The hydrogels were subjected to detailed evaluations of their water absorption, reusability, and water retention capabilities through indoor experiments.

2'-Fucosyllactose (2'-FL) is the most abundant human milk oligosaccharide and plays significant roles in gut microbiome balance, neural development, and immunoregulation. However, current fermentation schemes using multiple carbon sources increase production cost and metabolism burden. This study reported the development of an engineered Bacillus subtilis strain that produces 2'-FL using glucose as the sole carbon source.

The obtained PHBC dressing maintained the excellent physicochemical characteristics of BC, such as high porosity (above 76 %); high water absorption ratio, >80 % of water absorption rate (approximately 30 g/g) has completed in half an hour; favorable hydrophilicity with contact angle of about 50° and excellent flexibility. The introduction of PA-grafted HACC endows exhibited outstanding antibacterial properties against, anti-inflammatory performance and antioxidant capacity.

Based on Flory theory, this paper first analyzes that the high swelling property and gel strength of SHAs are attributed to the length of effective chain of crosslinker. Firstly, a series of hyperbranched crosslinker (HBC) with different molecular weights were designed and synthesized by anionic polymerization and sodium lignosulfonate (SL), which owns a hydrophilic network and remarkable biodegradation properties, was selected as a monomer.

Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a complex, heterogeneous disease with distinct etiological mechanisms. These different etiologies may give rise to multiple subtypes of CAD that could benefit from alternative preventions and treatments. However, so far, there have been no systematic efforts to predict CAD subtypes using clinical and genetic factors.

Under nitrogen limitation, more carbon flux is directed to PHB synthesis while growth is inhibited with diminishing overall carbon utilization, similar to the suboptimal carbon utilization during glycolysis-derived pyruvate decarboxylation. This study reconfigured the central carbon network of Halomonas bluephagenesis to improve PHB yield theoretically and practically.

Compared with traditional petroleum-based foam materials, cellulosic foam materials have significant advantages in terms of economy and environmental protection. However, the traditional cellulose-based foams have some problems such as high energy consumption in the preparation process. In this study, the recycled pulp foam (RPF) with ultra-light density (12.

This study presents a nonalkaline, water-based, and scalable synthesis strategy designed to adjust the water sorption properties of aluminum-based MOFs (Al-MOFs), specifically, AlFum and MOF-303, by modifying the basicity of the metal source, polymeric hydroxy-aluminum, as an alternative. Characterizations, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), confirmed the successful synthesis of Al-MOFs.

However, the simultaneous integration of excellent mechanical properties, swelling properties, and high electrical conductivity into a hydrogel is still a great challenge. This work introduces 1D tubular multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and 2D layered graphene oxide (GO) into polyacrylamide/poly-acrylic acid (PAM/PAA) hydrogels.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to assess, for the first time, the accumulation of 3-MCPDEs in human kidney tissues, focusing on 68 participants, some with and others without renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
Methods: An analytical method for 3-MCPDE determination in kidney tissues underwent partial validation to ensure its suitability for sample analysis.
Innovative superabsorbent hydrogels were synthesized from watermelon rind (WR), an abundant agricultural waste. The process involved free radical polymerization of acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AAm) with WR particles activated by ammonium persulfate (APS), resulting in (AA-co-AAm)/WR hydrogels with high equilibrium swelling capacities of 749 ± 32 g/g. Notably, after eight cycles, the WR hydrogel maintained 94.

Therefore, the development of hyperosmotic-tolerant industrial Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains, capable of resisting high-salt stress, offers both environmental and economic benefits. Our previous study highlighted the potential of CRZ1 overexpression as a strategy to improve the yeast strain's resistance to high-salt stress, however, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unexplored.

The objective of this study was to describe the prevalence of myeloid CHIP (M-CHIP) in patients with CLL, and to determine its association with time to first treatment (TTFT) and overall survival (OS). We retrospectively analyzed data from patients participating in a prospective CLL database at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who had standard-of-care targeted 95-gene next-generation sequencing (NGS) performed.
