A Case Report of Local Recurrence Developing 24 Years After Mastectomy for Breast Cancer Recurrence From Breast Cancer After 24 Years.

Introduction: Breast cancer is a commonly diagnosed cancer, in which most patients' metastases (about 75%) occurred in 5 years after the initial diagnosis, especially in 3 years. Recrudescence exceeding 20 years is rarely reported in the past several decades.Case information: A 68-year-old female patient presented with breast cancer in which 3 focal increased 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in the right supraclavicular lymph node, the mediastinum and sternum were found on positron emission tomography and computed tomography.

High-speed, high-voltage pulse generation using avalanche transistor.

In this work, the conduction mechanism of avalanche transistors was demonstrated and the operation condition for generating high-speed pulse using avalanche transistors was illustrated. Based on the above analysis, a high-speed and high-voltage pulse (HHP) generating circuit using avalanche transistors was designed, and its working principle and process were studied. To improve the speed of the output pulse, an approach of reducing the rise time of the leading edge is proposed.

Nitrogen and phosphorus removal of locally adapted plant species used in constructed wetlands in China.

This paper assesses the nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency of seven plant species (Schoenoplectus lacustris, Vetiveria zizanioides, Acorus calamus, Canna indica, Zizania latifolia, Phragmites communis, and Iris pseudacorus) commonly used in constructed wetland systems in southern China. The investigation considers two aspects that are relevant to determine nutrient removal efficiency: plants' biomass production and nutrient content in water effluent. Both assessments are correlated with each other.

House dust mite regulate the lung inflammation of asthmatic mice through TLR4 pathway in airway epithelial cells.

Aberrant innate and adaptive immune responsed to allergens and environmental pollutants lead to respiratory allergic disease such as asthma. In this study, we focused on toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4) expressed on airway epithelium to identify house dust mite (HDM)-regulated allergic inflammation via TLR4 signaling pathway and the triggering to alveolar macrophages (AM)-driven adaptive immune response. The authors found that mouse exposed to HDM showed more eosinophils, neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes as well as total cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) confirmed by flow cytometry.

The high prevalence of unrecognized anaemia in patients with diabetes and chronic kidney disease: a population-based study.

Background: Anaemia occurs early in the course of diabetes-related chronic kidney disease (CKD). There is little evidence about the prevalence of anaemia in people with diabetes. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of anaemia, by stage of CKD, in the general diabetic population.
