[RESULTS OF DUST FACTOR IN COPPER PYROMETALLURGY].

The dust entering the air of the working zone of metallurgical shops was shown to be presented by a disintegration aerosols originating in crushing and transporting ore materials and condensation occurring in the course of smelting, converting and fire-refining copper. The overwhelming majority of the grains have a size of 2.1-5.

[Implementation of systemic approach to evaluation of carcinogenic jeopardy, exemplified by copper metallurgy].

The authors suggested scientific and methodic approaches based on hygienic and medical prophylactic technologies to define carcinogenically dangerous occupations with unacceptable level of occupational carcinogenous risk, to control oncogenesis predictors in these occupations, to diagnose early stages of oncologic diseases, to specify medical and prophylactic measures -aimed to decrease oncologic morbidity.

There are presented the results of hygienic researches of the harmful substances content in the air of the working area ofthe copper and nickel metallurgy. Sulfur-containing gases (primarily sulfur dioxide), to the effects of which there are exposed workers of drying, smelting, converter conversion, are shown to play a leading role among professional factors.

[Immune state and its correction in metallurgists of copper and nickel production].

The article deals with results obtained in studies of immune system functional state among workers engaged into copper and nickel metallurgy, with data on influence of food rich in vitamins A, E and beta-carotene on workers' immune reactivity.
