The transition from cigarette smoking to the exclusive or partial use of e-cigarettes: A multi-stage mixed methods study among French university students.

Background: Few studies have estimated the frequency of e-cigarette use by smoking status among French young adults, and how those who smoke tobacco start and continue to use e-cigarettes. Our aim was to describe e-cigarette use among students who smoked tobacco.

Methods: A multi-stage, mixed methods study was conducted at the University of Bordeaux between September 2018 and March 2020.

Psychoactive substance use among students: A cross-sectional analysis.

Little is known about psychoactive substance use in students, apart from tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis. This study investigated the prevalence of substance use and overlap between various psychoactive substances in students. This cross-sectional study was conducted in 10 066 students included in the i-Share cohort between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2017.

Hyper-Enriched Anti-RSV Immunoglobulins Nasally Administered: A Promising Approach for Respiratory Syncytial Virus Prophylaxis.

Unlabelled: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a public health concern that causes acute lower respiratory tract infection. So far, no vaccine candidate under development has reached the market and the only licensed product to prevent RSV infection in at-risk infants and young children is a monoclonal antibody (Synagis). Polyclonal human anti-RSV hyper-immune immunoglobulins (Igs) have also been used but were superseded by Synagis owing to their low titer and large infused volume.

Protein stability during nebulization: Mind the collection step!

Inhaled protein therapeutics meet a growing interest for the treatment of respiratory diseases. In liquid aerosols, proteins face stresses that may generate instabilities, such as physicochemical denaturations, aggregation and loss of activity. Monitoring protein stability is thus crucial but implies collection of aerosol droplets before analysis.

Among the possible applications, aptamers have been used for affinity chromatography with effective results and advantages over most advanced protein separation technologies.
