A Microfabrication Technique for High-Performance Diffractive Optical Elements Tailored for Numerical Simulation.

Diffractive optical elements (DOEs) are specialized optical components that manipulate light through diffraction for various applications, including holography, spectroscopy, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), and light detection and ranging (LiDAR). The performance of DOEs is highly determined by fabricated materials and fabrication methods, in addition to the numerical simulation design. This paper presents a microfabrication technique optimized for DOEs, enabling precise control of critical parameters, such as refractive index (RI) and thickness.

Network analysis of the symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder in patients undergoing chemotherapy for colorectal cancer.

Objective: In this study, we examine the network structure of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including core symptoms and strong edges in patients undergoing chemotherapy for colorectal cancer in China, and lay the groundwork for targeted psychological interventions for these patients.

Methods: This study included 360 colorectal cancer patients receiving chemotherapy at a third-class hospital in Wuxi, China, from November 2023 to June 2024. The severity of each item of PTSD was assessed using the DSM-5 Checklist (PCL-5).

A new approach for hemodynamics of varicoceles: blood flow patterns based on contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

Background: Hemodynamic alterations in the spermatic vein are implicated in infertility among patients with varicocele (VC). Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), a powerful tool for hemodynamic analysis, remains unexplored for VC. This study aimed to demonstrate the feasibility of using CEUS to evaluate spermatic vein hemodynamics in patients with VC and establish a clear correlation between specific hemodynamic patterns and impaired semen parameters.

Protective effect of ulinastatin against negative inflammatory response and organ dysfunction in acute aortic dissection surgery: The PANDA trial.

Ulinastatin is a protease-inhibiting drug with anti-inflammatory and other pharmacological properties. Little is known regarding its role following acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) surgery. We perform a randomized controlled trial to investigate the protective effect of ulinastatin against negative inflammatory response and organ dysfunction in ATAAD surgery (PANDA).

[Prevalence and genetic characteristics of infections among HIV-positive individuals in Jiangxi Province].

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of infection and the distribution of parasite species and genotypes among HIV-positive individuals in Jiangxi Province.

Methods: HIV-positive individuals' sociodemographic and clinical data were collected from three AIDS designated hospitals in Jiangxi Province from January 2022 to March 2023. Subjects' stool samples were collected, and genomic DNA was extracted from stool samples.
