Chiroptical resonances with high quality factors (Q factors) have recently garnered extensive attention due to their broad applications in lasing and optical sensing. However, the independent manipulation of the Q factor and circular dichroism (CD) of chiroptical resonances has rarely been proposed. Here, we demonstrate that the Q factor and CD of guided mode resonance (GMR) can be independently manipulated by simply varying two structural parameters in a diatomic dielectric metasurface grating, offering a new paradigm for chiroptical resonance manipulation.

Aldose reductase (ALR) is closely related to the plant's response to abiotic stresses. Previous transcriptome data from the salt-tolerant Tritipyrum Y1805 indicated that an ALR-related gene was highly upregulated under salt stress. The gene, TtALR1, was successfully cloned from Y1805, with a coding sequence length of 960 bp.

, a traditional medicinal plant, is commonly found on the Tibetan Plateau at altitudes of 3100-5200 m. Its primary active medicinal compounds, flavonoids and phenylethanol glycosides (PhGs), exhibit various pharmacological effects, including hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, immunomodulatory, and antioxidant activities. This study analyzed flavonoid and PhG metabolites in the roots of collected from Henan County (HN), Guoluo County (GL), Yushu County (YS), and Chengduo County (CD) in Qinghai Province.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to develop an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) model for elderly lung cancer patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery, involving 200 participants split into an ERAS group and a control group.
  • Results showed the ERAS group had significantly lower postoperative pulmonary complications (8% vs. 18%), shorter duration of chest tube placement (2.57 days vs. 3.92 days), and reduced pain scores (2.14 vs. 3.78) compared to the control group.
  • The ERAS model not only minimizes complications and pain but also helps maintain lung function in elderly lung cancer patients, suggesting it should be widely adopted.

The response to climate change and air pollution control demonstrates strong synergy across scientific mechanisms, targets, strategies, and governance systems. This report, based on a monitoring indicator system for coordinated governance of air pollution and climate change, employs an interdisciplinary approach combining natural and social sciences. It establishes 20 indicators across five key areas: air pollution and climate change, governance systems and practices, structural transformation and technologies, atmospheric components and emission reduction pathways, and health impacts and co-benefits.
