The creatine (Cr) biosynthesis pathway buffers ATP in metabolically active tissues. We investigated whether sex of fetus and day of gestation influence Cr in endometrial and conceptus tissues from gilts on Days 60 and Day 90 (n = 6 gilts/day) of gestation. Uterine and conceptus tissues associated with one male and one female fetus from each gilt were analyzed for creatine, mRNAs, and proteins for Cr biosynthesis.

mpactR: an R adaptation of the metabolomics peak analysis computational tool (MPACT) for use in reproducible data analysis pipelines.

mpactR automates pre-processing of liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) data from microbiological samples to correct mispicked peaks, resolve inter-sample variation in abundance across technical replicates, account for in-source ion fragmentation, and remove background noise to yield high-quality mass spectrometry features. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy represents a breakthrough for the treatment of hematological malignancies. However, to treat solid tumors and certain hematologic cancers, next-generation CAR-T cells require further genetic modifications to overcome some of the current limitations. Improving manufacturing processes to preserve cell health and function of edited T cells is equally critical.

Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography in Patients With the Boston Keratoprosthesis Type 1.

Purpose: To report on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in patients with a type 1 Boston keratoprosthesis (KPro) and determine its feasibility through assessment of imaging artifacts.

Methods: KPro and non-KPro subjects were matched for age, gender, and glaucoma diagnosis. OCTA images of the peripapillary optic nerve were obtained, reviewed by 2 readers masked to the diagnosis for artifacts and usability, and used for microvascular measurements.
