Background: To compare the safety and efficacy of once-daily tacrolimus (ODT) versus twice-daily tacrolimus (BDT) in adult live donor liver transplantation (LDLT).
Methods: In this open-labelled randomized trial, 174 adult patients undergoing LDLT were randomized into ODT or BDT, combined with basiliximab induction and mycophenolate mofetil (steroid-free regimen). Tacrolimus was started at a total dose of 1 mg and the trough level was aimed at 3-7 ng/ml.
The growth and formation of blood vessels is an undeniably fundamental biological process crucial to controlling overall development of an organism. This phenomenon consists of two separate processes, commencing with vasculogenesis, which refers to the process of blood vessel formation strictly in embryonic stages, via de novo endothelial cell synthesis. Angiogenesis continues the formation of the vascular network via sprouting and splitting.

Four molecular forms, designated as A'1, A2, A3 and A4 based on the KCl concentration required for their elution from the ion-exchange column, were detected in lizard liver, while only two forms were found in lizard kidney (A3 and A4) and frog liver and kidney (A2 and A3).

Two isoforms of arginase, A1 and A2, were found in rat liver, submaxillary gland and kidney as well as beef kidney. In beef liver, however, A2 was the only detectable form. Two additional forms, A3 and A4, found only in rat kidney were probably artifactitious.
