Clinical Case of a 23-Year-Old Patient with Moyamoya Disease and Epilepsy in Bulgaria.

Moyamoya disease is a cerebrovascular pathology characterized by progressive stenosis of the internal carotid arteries and their branches, leading to ischemic and/or hemorrhagic disorders of the cerebral circulation, primarily affecting children and young adults. We present a case of a 23-year-old woman with a history of recurrent cerebrovascular accidents since childhood. Despite experiencing focal motor seizures and transient ischemic attacks, her condition remained undiagnosed until 2006, when, at the age of 7, a digital subtraction angiography revealed characteristic bilateral internal carotid artery occlusions.

Gluten ataxia and other central nervous system disorders could be linked to gluten enteropathy and related autoantibodies. In this narrative review, we focus on the various neuro-logical manifestations in patients with gluten sensitivity/celiac disease, immunological and autoimmune mechanisms of ataxia in connection to gluten sensitivity and the autoantibodies that could be used as a biomarker for diagnosing and following. We focused on the anti-gliadin antibodies, antibodies to different isoforms of tissue transglutaminase (TG) (anti-TG2, 3, and 6 antibodies), anti-glycine receptor antibodies, anti-glutamine acid decarboxylase antibodies, anti-deamidated gliadin peptides antibodies, Most studies found a higher prevalence of these antibodies in patients with gluten sensitivity and neurological dysfunction, presented as different neurological disorders.

An Elevated mRNA Combined with Lower mRNA Level in Active Rheumatoid Arthritis Peripheral Blood.

We aimed to investigate the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokine genes , , , , and immunoregulatory genes , , and in the peripheral blood of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) at messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) level. The total RNA was isolated from peripheral blood samples. Real-time quantitative PCR was used to perform TaqMan-based assays to quantify mRNAs from 8 target genes.

Atypical clinical and radiologic findings in a patient with brain metastatic lesions.

We report the case of a 47-year-old man who was admitted to our clinic with an intractable headache, nausea, and sporadic vomiting, as well as speech difficulties and a 'floating' sensation. This man had no prior medical history. MRI of the brain showed evidence of over 20 supra- and infratentorial capsulated ring-enhancing lesions.
