Brassica rapa L. is a valuable and widespread species, but its cultivation in risk farming areas requires high-quality cold-hardy varieties to be developed. Mechanisms of the cold stress response in plants involve expression of numerous genes, including ribosomal ones, and are related to plant chromosome variability.

The aim of the study was to determine neurophysiological characteristics in healthy children and adolescents and patients with PSD and PSP based on the analysis of their electroencephalogram (EEG).
Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: In total 59 children aged between 11 and 18 years old were examined, among them 24 with PSD (duodenal ulcer and bronchial asthma) (Group I), 15 patients with PSP (irritable bowel syndrome) (Group II), and 20 healthy children of the corresponding age (ІІІ Control group).
A search was conducted for the alleles responsible for the quality of food-grade rapeseed oil in a collection of 21 samples of spring and winter oilseed rape of Belarusian and Russian breeding. We also developed A- and C-gene-specific DNA markers to assess the genomic polymorphisms of rape for FAD3 genes and selected plants with a low content of linolenic acid for use in the selection process. The development of a method for identifying FAD3 alleles, which control the level of linolenic acid in rapeseed oil, as well as of the design for new dCAPS markers, enabled the identification of plants homozygous for individual FAD3A and/or FAD3C genes in the F2-generation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe application of DNA intercalator 9-aminoacridine allowed us to increase the resolution of chromosome C-banding and DAPI-banding patterns and to investigate chromosomal polymorphism in karyotypes of seven spring and six winter rape varieties. It was shown that the pericentromeric and intercalary C-bands of most of the chromosomes in spring rape were smaller in size and less polymorphic than those of winter rape. More 26S and 5S rDNA sites were found in the winter rape karyotypes than the spring varieties.
