Background: Despite advancements in reducing cardiovascular disease, it remains a major health concern. Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) has a positive impact on morbidity, mortality, and functioning, but faces high dropout rates especially among vulnerable patients, due to social inequalities and insufficiently tailored interventions. To address this, we developed the Heart Priority Programme targeting and supporting cardiac patients at risk of dropout.

It is unclear whether GAM may provide better function and quality of life (QoL), or be cost-effective, in a radiotherapy (RT) setting.
Methods: In this Norwegian cluster-randomised controlled pilot study, we assessed the impact of a GAM intervention involving specialist and primary health services.
Microplastics are ubiquitous environmental pollutants frequently detected in aquatic environments. Here we used the Atlantic salmon epithelial gill cell line (ASG-10) to investigate the uptake and effects of polystyrene (PS) microplastic. The ASG-10 cell line has phagocytotic/endocytic capacities and can take up clear PS particles at 0.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFungi of the genus Alternaria are ubiquitous plant pathogens and saprophytes which are able to grow under varying temperature and moisture conditions as well as on a large range of substrates. A spectrum of structurally diverse secondary metabolites with toxic potential has been identified, but occurrence and relative proportion of the different metabolites in complex mixtures depend on strain, substrate, and growth conditions. This review compiles the available knowledge on hazard identification and characterization of Alternaria toxins.
