Context: Cisplastin (CDDP) is a chemotherapeutic drug frequently used to manage a variety of cancers. However, its use is associated with hepatorenal toxicity resulting from elevated reactive oxygen species production.
Objective: Herein, the hepatorenal protective effect of -butylhydroquinone (tBHQ) in cisplatin (CDDP)-treated rats was examined.
Impaired male reproductive function is a major complication associated with diabetes mellitus (DM). Whether or not insulin, when co-administered with zinc will reverse or ameliorate reproductive dysfunction in male diabetics is not known. This study thus sought to establish if co-administration of insulin and zinc reverses or ameliorates male reproductive dysfunction in DM better than either insulin or zinc.

However, the oxidative stress-related toxicities associated with cancer cell resistance-induced dose scaling has limited its long-term use. In the present study, we explored the benefits of the antioxidant, tert-butylhydroquinone (tBHQ; 50 mg/kg b.

Thirty male Wistar rats aged 10 weeks old and weighing 270-300g were assigned into 5 groups and used for this study. Rats in groups 1-4 were administered vehicle, CdCl (5mg/kg bwt), CdCl+QE (5mg/kg bwt and 20mg/kg bwt, respectively) or QE (20mg/kg bwt) orally for 4 weeks.
