Long-term Impact of Continuous Glucose Monitoring Assistance on Glycemic Control in Children and Adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes Following the 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquake.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) assistance on glycemic control in children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in earthquake-affected regions, comparing those who benefited from CGM with those who did not. Additionally, the study assessed changes in CGM metrics over nine months of CGM use.

Methods: A multicenter, cross-sectional study was conducted across 11 centers in Türkiye.

Evaluation of Growth Characteristics and Final Heights of Cases Diagnosed with Noonan Syndrome on GH Treatment.

Introduction: Proportional short stature is one of the most important features of Noonan Syndrome, and adult height often remains below the 3rd percentile. Although the pathophysiology of short stature in NS patients is not fully understood, it has been shown that GH treatment is beneficial in NS, and it significantly improves the height in respect to the results of short and long-term GH treatment.

Methods: In this study, the efficacy of GH therapy was evaluated in children and adolescents with Noonan syndrome who attained final height.

Evaluation of thyroid dysfunction in childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus: Risk factors for Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Objective: Increased frequency of autoimmune thyroid disease, particularly Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) was reported several studies in the literature, in individuals with childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (cSLE). Our study aimed to investigate the prevalence and contributing factors of thyroid dysfunction and HT among cSLE patients.

Methods: Thyroid function tests were obtained cross-sectionally from cSLE patients.

The role of body composition and appetite-regulating hormones in idiopathic central precocious puberty and their changes during GnRH analog therapy.

Purpose: It was aimed to compare circulating levels of ghrelin, leptin, peptide YY (PYY), and neuropeptide (NPY) between girls with idiopathic central precocious puberty (ICPP) and prepubertal girls, as well as to evaluate alterations in these hormone levels and body composition during leuprolide acetate treatment in girls with ICPP.

Methods: This prospective study was conducted on girls with isolated premature thelarche (IPT), girls with ICPP, and age-matched prepubertal controls. Anthropometric measurements, body composition analysis and appetite-regulating hormone level measurements were performed in each group and also at the 6th and 12th months of the leuprolide acetate treatment for the girls with ICPP.

Acute Kidney Injury After Thyroid Hormone Withdrawal in an Adolescent with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma.

Objectives: We report a patient with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) who developed acute kidney injury (AKI) and elevated creatine kinase (CK) after thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW) prior to radioiodine therapy.

Case Presentation: A 12-year-old female patient who had undergone total thyroidectomy for PTC one year ago presented with leg pain for the past 2 days. Following THW 3 weeks ago, the case had received 70 mCI radioiodine treatment 6 days ago.
