Producing homogeneous planting material in oil palm poses a significant challenge, which can be addressed through somatic embryogenesis. This study successfully achieved somatic embryogenesis using immature male inflorescence from Tenera hybrid. Modified Eeuwens medium yielded better results than the Murashige and Skoog (MS) and CHU (N6) media when supplemented with 2,4-D, picloram and α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA).

Randomized comparison of precut papillotomy and endosonography guided rendezvous procedure for difficult biliary access in Malignant distal biliary obstruction.

Background And Aims: Difficult biliary cannulation (DBC) is a marker for prolonged procedure time and increased adverse event rate (AER) during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). We previously showed that EUS-guided rendezvous procedure (EUS-RV) had a higher single session success rate than precut papillotomy (PcP) in DBC patients. The present randomized study aims at comparing the technical success and AER between the two approaches.

Acquired Ankyloblepharon Correction Using Ocular Surface and Tarsal Mucous Membrane Grafting in Cicatrizing Ocular Surface Diseases.

Purpose: To report the long-term surgical outcomes of acquired ankyloblepharon correction using mucous membrane graft.

Methods: Five eyes of 4 patients (median age, 19 years) with acquired ankyloblepharon were managed using eyelid splitting and mucous membrane graft anchored to the recti muscles on the bulbar surface in the respective quadrant and onto the bare tarsal surface.
