Successful Treatment of Disseminated Granuloma Annulare with Upadacitinib.

Disseminated granuloma annulare (DGA) is an inflammatory skin disorder characterized by more than 10 erythematous, raised, ring-shaped plaques. Its treatment remains challenging, with conventional therapies showing variable efficacy. We report the case of a woman in her 50s with a 2-year history of DGA refractory to multiple treatments.

Treatment of congenital Langerhans cell histiocytosis with cobimetinib.

We report a case of congenital multisystem Langerhans cell histiocytosis with cutaneous and hematopoietic involvement. After the failure of first-line (vinblastine and prednisolone) and second-line (vincristine and cytarabine) therapies, treatment with cobimetinib, a mitogen-activated protein kinase (MEK) inhibitor, led to the remission of disease and a sustained response after 11 months of ongoing treatment. Protein kinase inhibitors targeting BRAF or MEK could represent a promising future therapeutic option, also in children with LCH.

[Acute catatonic syndrome after neuroleptic malignant syndrome].

We report the case of a young woman who deve-loped catatonic syndrome a few days after neuroleptic mali-gnant syndrome (NMS), arising the problem of the chronology of both affections. A 20-year old woman with an history of bipolar disorder, experienced an acute manic syndrome that made hospitalization necessary. Fourteen days after loxa-pine prescription, the patient developed a NMS (DSM IV criteria) dyskinesia, dysphagia, fever and alteration of cons-ciousness.

[Valpromide, Valproic acid and removal of small intestine in the treatment of a chronic depression: a case report].

Valpromide (VPD) is an antiepileptic drug, derivative of Valproic acid (VPA), used as a mood-stabilizer in bipolar disorder for 25 years in several European countries. VPD is also used as an augmentation strategy in refractory depression. Despite chemical similarity between VPA and VPD, the pharmacokinetics of the 2 drugs in humans are quite distinct.

[Vascular involvements in Behçet disease. Based on 40 patient records].

The authors report about 40 cases of Behçet's disease with vascular involvement, i.e. 32% of a 125 case series.
