Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women occurring worldwide. Some of the procedures used to diagnose breast cancer are mammogram, breast ultrasound, biopsy, breast magnetic resonance imaging, and blood tests such as complete blood count. Detecting breast cancer at an early stage plays an important role in diagnostic and curative procedures.

Chemopreventive effect of carvacrol on 1,2-dimethylhydrazine induced experimental colon carcinogenesis.

Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause for cancer-related death and its prevention is of great importance throughout the world. Chemoprevention offers a novel approach to control the incidence of colon cancer. The present study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of carvacrol supplementation on colonic aberrant crypt foci (ACF), lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense system in 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH)-induced colon carcinogenesis in male Wistar rats.

Radiosensitizing potential of rutin against human colon adenocarcinoma HT-29 cells.

Aim: The present study was focused at evaluating the potential of rutin to improve the radiotherapeutic index and thereby the cytotoxicity towards colon cancer cells.

Materials And Methods: HT-29 cells were pre-treated with rutin and the effect on cell proliferation was determined by MTT assay followed by exposure to radiation. After irradiation, experimental groups were sham control, rutin alone, radiation alone, rutin along with radiation-treated HT-29 cells.

Evaluation of crestal bone loss and stability of immediate functional loading versus immediate non-functional loading of single-mandibular posterior implants: A pilot randomized controlled clinical trial.

Background: The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the crestal bone loss and stability of single mandibular posterior dental implants placed in immediate functional loading (IFL) and immediate nonfunctional loading (INFL) during 6 months after placement.

Materials And Methods: Forty single piece root form titanium implants were placed in 20 patients using IFL and INFL techniques. The change in the level of crestal bone was measured on standardized digital periapical radiographs using SOPRO imaging software and stability of implants using resonance frequency analyser taken at the baseline, 1, 3, and 6 months.
