Article Synopsis
  • Skin cancer is prevalent globally, particularly melanoma, which can spread aggressively, making early detection crucial for successful treatment.
  • Researchers developed a new Deep Learning model called the Multi-Grained Enhanced Deep Cascaded Forest (Mg-EDCF) that classifies skin lesions into seven categories, improving diagnostic accuracy.
  • When tested against previous models using the HAM10000 dataset, the Mg-EDCF achieved an impressive average accuracy of 98.19%, surpassing existing state-of-the-art algorithms.

Beam-column joints are crucial load transmission zones because they face concentrated forces from both the beams and the columns. High shear and axial stresses caused by these concentrated forces in the area of the joint may result in decreased joint strength. This article proposes a new beam-to-column connection developed for precast concrete-resisting frames.

Introduction: Visual inspection with acetic acid is limited by subjectivity and a lack of skilled human resource. A decision support system based on artificial intelligence could address these limitations. We conducted a diagnostic study to assess the diagnostic performance using visual inspection with acetic acid under magnification of healthcare workers, experts, and an artificial intelligence algorithm.
