Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed the effectiveness of multiparametric MRI (mp-MRI) for detecting prostate cancer using a 1.5-T machine without an endorectal coil, involving 154 patients.
  • The findings revealed that 41.6% of patients had significant lesions (PI-RADS 4 or 5) with a high detection rate for clinically significant cancer (79.7% showing Gleason score ≥7) and low false positives (7.8%).
  • Overall, mp-MRI was deemed a reliable method for early detection of clinically significant prostate cancer, with strong inter-reader agreement on the accuracy of imaging.
