The future of combat trauma anesthesia in an austere environment (CTA in AE).

The purpose of this study was to identify shortfalls in combat trauma anesthesia in austere environments on the basis of discussions with other military anesthesia providers. The threat of large-scale combat operations in a multi-domain operational environment based on current data from the Ukrainian-Russian conflict and potential conflict in the Pacific Theater served as the foundation for these discussions. The principal results were 2 centrally themed proposals that were unanimous consensus from all the of the council members that are recommended to be addressed by military medical leadership.

Pregnancy and pulmonary artery hypertension: Management challenges.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a term used to describe a complex heterogenous group of conditions defined by a mean pulmonary arterial pressure of more than 20 mmHg at rest on right-heart catheterization. PH in pregnancy is associated with high rates of maternal morbidity and mortality and poor fetal outcomes. Currently, pregnancy in these women is classified as modified WHO class IV (pregnancy contraindicated).

Excess of rare noncoding variants in several type 2 diabetes candidate genes among Asian Indian families.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) etiology is highly complex due to its multiple roots of origin. Polygenic risk scores (PRS) based on genome-wide association studies (GWAS) can partially explain T2D risk. Asian Indian people have up to six times higher risk of developing T2D than European people, and underlying causes of this disparity are unknown.

Gender bias in acute myocardial infarction care in India: Nationwide retrospective study of 41832 patients.

Background: Various studies have documented gender differences in the management and outcomes of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in developed countries. Gender differences in the management of AMI in India is not known.

Objectives: To document the gender differences in the management and outcomes of AMI in India.
