Isolation of bovine coronavirus (bcoV) in vero cell line and its confirmation by direct FAT and RT-PCR.

Bovine Coronavirus (BCoV) is widespread both in dairy and beef cattle throughout the world. The virus is one of the largest RNA virus and has specific tropism for intestinal and pulmonary epithelial cells. It is responsible for huge economic losses by causing winter dysentery in adult dairy cattle and respiratory and intestinal tract infections leading to pneumo-enteritis in young calves.

Effect of forging parameters on low cycle fatigue behaviour of Al/basalt short fiber metal matrix composites.

This paper deals with metal matrix composites (MMCs) of Al 7075 alloy containing different weight percentage (2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10) basalt short fiber reinforcement and unreinforced matrix alloy.

Nematic kink states in a laser field.

We have investigated the nonlinear optical interaction of uniform and kink states of a nematic and a ferrofluid-doped nematic (ferronematic) liquid crystal with an incident laser field. We find that the transition between the permitted uniform oreintational states of these systems is of first order in the case of nematics, and of second order in the case of ferronematics. In the latter case we also find the phenomenon of reentrance.

Optical diffraction in nonuniform cholesteric liquid crystals: phase-grating mode.

We have worked out the diffraction pattern in the phase-grating mode of a cholesteric liquid crystal (cholesteric) with a pitch gradient. The pitch gradients considered are symmetric and asymmetric with respect to the sample center. For a uniform input beam, the intensity profile of each diffraction order becomes broad.
