Ewing's sarcomas/peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumors (ES/pPNETs) are high-grade malignant neoplasms rarely found outside the skeletal system. Only 12 cases of vulvar ES/pPNET have so far been reported, all involving children or women of child-bearing age. We describe the case of a 52-year-old woman who was admitted to our hospital for the local excision of a 4cm vulvar mass, originally thought to be a Bartholin's gland cyst.

A case of an adenomyotic cyst in a 46-year-old woman was examined by means of transvaginal ultrasound, hysteroscopy and microscopy. The transvaginal ultrasound showed an anechoic area. Hysteroscopy revealed a cystic mass of the posterior wall and by means of a bipolar loop resectoscope the mass was removed.

The emotional aspects of the doctor-patient relationship are often overlooked in clinical training, as are the sexual problems. A questionnaire was drawn up in order to obtain further information about the gynecologist's emotional reactions during pelvic examination. An analysis of the results suggests that the doctor's emotional reaction during pelvic examination is not the same in both sexes, whereas both sexes show equal concern for the patient's sexual activity.
