[Erythroblastic hyperplasia secondary to acute parvovirus B19 infection: A case report].

Acute parvovirus B19 infection is a self-limiting disease in patients with normal immune response. However, in patients with blood dyscrasias, it is possible to present with an aplastic crisis. We present the case of a 48-year-old man who had developed an aplastic crisis as a result of an acute parvovirus B19 infection with an undiagnosed hereditary spherocytosis.

Impact of PI-RADS v2 on indication of prostate biopsy.

Objectives: To identify the group of patients who could safely avoid prostate biopsy based on the findings of multiparametric prostate resonance imaging (MRmp), parameterized with PI-RADS v2, using prostate biopsy as reference test and to assess the sensitivity and specificity of mpMR in identifying clinically significant prostate cancer using prostate biopsy as a reference test.

Patients And Methods: Three hundred and forty two patients with suspected prostate cancer were evaluated with mpMR and prostate biopsy. Agreement between imaging findings and histopathological findings was assessed using the Kappa index.

Fabry-Pérot-multichannel spectrometer tandem for ultra-high resolution Raman spectroscopy.

We present a novel ultra-high resolution Raman spectroscopy technique based in a Fabry-Pérot/triple spectrometer tandem with multichannel acquisition. We describe the system, detail the calibration process, and experimentally test the technique, showing that effective finesses in excess of 1000 are possible. The technique is specifically tailored for low intensity, complex and spectrally extended Raman spectra, providing shorter acquisition times with respect to similar tandem systems with monochannel detectors.

Lifetime of THz acoustic nanocavity modes.

We present an ultrahigh resolution Raman study of the lifetime of 1 THz acoustic phonons confined in nanocavities. We demonstrate that the cavity Q factor can be controlled by design. Anharmonicity contributes only marginally to limit the cavity phonon lifetime, even at room temperature, while thickness fluctuations in the scale of 1/10 of a unit cell are the main limitation for the performance of THz phonon cavities.
