A Scoping Review of Planetary Health Education in Pharmacy Curricula.

Objectives: Climate change threatens humanity, biodiversity, and global health, with the health care system already experiencing its effects. The pharmacy profession must act on environmental sustainability; however, there is a noticeable gap in the literature regarding its integration into pharmacy education. Despite interest by pharmacy educators and updates to pharmacy program accreditation standards in some countries, resources on integrating this content remain limited.

Microstructure response of concentrated suspensions to flow reversal.

We study experimentally at the macroscopic and microstructure scale a dense suspension of non-Brownian neutrally buoyant spherical particles experiencing periodic reversals of flow at constant rate between parallel plates and tracked individually. We first characterize the quasi-steady state reached at the end of half periods. The volume fraction of particles increases from the walls to the center as a result of migration induced by the nonuniform strain rate.

Seasonal role of a specialist predator in rodent cycles: Ermine-lemming interactions in the High Arctic.

The exact mechanisms behind population cycles remain elusive. An ongoing debate centers on whether predation by small mustelids is necessary and sufficient to generate rodent cycles, as stipulated by the specialist predator hypothesis (SPH). Specifically, the SPH predicts that the predator should respond numerically to the abundance of its prey with a delay of approximately one year, leading to delayed density-dependence in the dynamics of the prey population.

Patient experience of an abstinence-based Indigenous residential treatment program in Northern Ontario: a descriptive qualitative study.

Background: Indigenous peoples with substance use disorders (SUD) and intergenerational trauma (IGT) face complex healthcare needs. Therefore understanding Indigenous patient experiences is crucial for enhancing care delivery, fostering engagement, and achieving optimal outcomes, yet few studies explore the motivations for seeking, staying in, and utilizing treatment from an Indigenous perspective. The goal of this study was to understand the patient experience with an abstinence-based treatment model in a residential treatment setting.

Exploring the Associations of Afterschool Science Participation and Friendships with Science Identities.

Building on previous research that demonstrates the association of youth experiences in afterschool science and higher science identities, this paper presents a network study of 421 middle school students that examines afterschool science participation, friendship ties, and science identities. Participation in afterschool science clubs is associated with higher science identity, but the mechanisms and order of causality are unclear. Youth form friendships inside and outside of school, and peers may influence participation in afterschool activities, as empirical research on friendships shows that they are associated with youth interests.
