Objective: Efficacy and tolerability profiles of Treximet [sumatriptan/naproxen sodium combination tablet (SNC)] have been established in clinical trials but have to date been virtually unstudied in pragmatic research. The primary objective of this study was to compare the overall satisfaction of SNC to its monotherapy components, S/N [one 100 mg Imitrex tablet (S) and two Aleve (naproxen sodium) 220 mg tablets, total dose 440 mg (N)] administered concomitantly using the Patient Perception of Migraine Questionnaire -Revised (PPMQ-R).

Methods: Adults with migraine (n = 50) without 'medication overuse headache' were treated for up to 18 migraine attacks per 3-month study period with study medication; SNC during one study period and S/N during the other study period.

This project was designed to develop an understanding of family members' experiences of moving a loved one to a long-term care facility and to identify ways in which facilities might help ease this process. Twenty-one semi-structured interviews were conducted with family members who had recently moved a relative into one of three long-term care facilities in Southern Ontario, Canada. Several factors appeared to contribute to the overall experience of the move to long-term care and either served to impede or facilitate a positive transition for families.

We studied the duration of the protective effect of azelastine against histamine-induced bronchoconstriction in six subjects with asymptomatic asthma. The study was performed in two periods of five consecutive days each. After a histamine inhalation test, we randomly administered either placebo or a single oral dose of 8.

In ten young asthmatic subjects, we studied the effect of a single oral dose of 4.4 mg of azelastine hydrochloride on exercise-induced bronchoconstriction during the breathing of cold air. Exercise challenges were performed on two different days before and four hours after azelastine and placebo given in a randomized double-blind crossover fashion.

We studied the relationship between attenuation of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction and serum theophylline concentration in a dose-dependent fashion in 11 patients with mild bronchial asthma. In addition, we investigated the protection of equal amounts of theophylline either dissolved in ethylenediamine or in proxyphylline and diprophylline. At 4 separate study days, the patients received one of the following preparations in a double-blind random order: saline solution, 200 mg of theophylline in 19.
