Introduction: Malnutrition is a common manifestation in patients with dialysis and is a major cause of mortality in these patients. Various biochemical parameters are used to detect and monitor malnutrition in these patients. Confounding variables present in hemodialysis have an effect on the sensitivity and specificity of these tests.

Multifocal Presentation of a Laryngeal Disorder.

Multifocal presentation of a laryngeal disorder is very rare. We report a case of a 48-year-old man, who presented to our hospital with hoarse voice for two years. Stroboscopic evaluation followed by surgery was done and the specimens were sent for histopathological examination from three different anatomical sites of larynx which were diagnosed as one-benign lesion, second-benign lesion but ability of malignant transformation and the third-a malignancy.

Standardization of dot-enzyme-linked immmunosorbent assay for the diagnosis of bovine visceral schistosomiasis.

Guillain-Barré syndrome in a patient with neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare manifestation of neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Clinical and electrophysiological features of Guillain-Barré syndrome in patients with SLE are different from those in patients without SLE. Auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder is a type of hearing loss where outer hair cell function are normal (as evidenced by the preservation of OAEs and cochlear microphonics), whereas auditory nerve functions are abnormal (as evidenced by abnormal auditory brainstem evoked potentials beginning with wave I of the ABR) and acoustic reflexes to ipsilateral and contralateral tones are absent. It is likely that in cases with auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder not only the cochlear nerve, but also the vestibular nerves might get involved. The present study was conducted with an aim of finding out the inferior and superior vestibular nerve involvement through cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potentials and Caloric test results respectively in individuals with Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorders.
