- Porokeratosis is a rare skin condition with different forms, characterized by round patches with raised, scaly borders; punctate porokeratosis is a specific variant that features small, elevated lesions on the palms and soles.
- Unlike other porokeratosis variants, punctate porokeratosis does not increase the risk of squamous cell carcinoma, but it can be mistaken for other skin conditions similar in appearance.
- Properly differentiating punctate porokeratosis from those other conditions, especially spiny keratoderma (which can indicate serious health issues), is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
A case of urachal signet-ring cell carcinoma is reported and compared with the 18 previously reported cases. This tumor appears aggressive, with a five-year survival rate of 27 percent. Only 1 patient achieved a five-year disease-free survival.

Such information has a particular relevance to the temporal lobe epilepsy-psychopathology controversy. In order to investigate evidence for increased psychopathology as a function of complex partial seizures (temporal lobe epilepsy in the old nomenclature), three groups of epilepsy patients differing in seizure type were compared on the MMPI.
