Introduction: Graft fibrosis following the first stage of a free graft staged hypospadias repair is a difficult scenario where the management has traditionally been to excise the graft and replace it with a new graft. However, still the risk of recurrent fibrosis remains making it difficult to proceed to the second stage and tubularising a fibrosed graft practically ensures a breakdown. Herein, we present our way of using parameatal based flip flap urethroplasty as a salvage procedure in this situation.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is the most prominent and highly prevalent chronic neuro-degenerative disease generally recognized by classical motor symptoms which are linked with genetic mutation, Lewy bodies, and subsequently selective loss of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) and blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier protect the central nervous system against toxins and are the most significant barriers to effective brain drug delivery in managing Parkinsonism. In recent years, intranasal delivery has attracted remarkable attention for brain targeting as the drug can be administered to the brain directly from the nose employing the trigeminal and olfactory pathways.

Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is a mosquito-transmitted alphavirus causing fever, myalgia, and debilitating joint swelling and pain, which in many patients becomes chronic. The frequent epidemics of CHIKV across the world pose a significant public health burden necessitating the development of effective antiviral therapeutics. A cellular imaging-based high-content screening of natural compounds identified withaferin A (WFA), a steroidal lactone isolated from the plant Withania somnifera, as a potent antiviral against CHIKV.

The current study investigated the impact of nutmeg essential oil (NEO) and tea tree essential oil (TTEO) on the preservation of raw chicken fillets during nine days of refrigerated storage study. The primary aim was to explore the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of these essential oils (EOs) and assess their ability to extend the shelf life of poultry meat. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was utilized to identify the chemical compositions of NEO and TTEO, revealing the presence of compounds like myristicin and terpenoids, known for their antimicrobial and antioxidant activities.
