To develop an evidence and consensus-based clinical recommendation (CR) regarding primary care management of insufficient and disturbed sleep associated with concussion/mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in service members and veterans. A multidisciplinary expert working group (EWG) of 23 subject matter experts was selected by the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE), based on relevant expertise and experience, from candidates nominated by DHA communities of interest. The TBICoE core working group (CWG) conducted a literature search using PubMed and Google Scholar databases for articles relevant to sleep and mTBI from 2014 to 2018.

Introduction: Zoledronic acid (ZA), used for treatment of children with osteoporosis, can cause acute phase reaction (APR) following the first infusion. Many institutions have a policy to admit and monitor all children for their first ZA infusion.

Objective: To determine if the APR with the first ZA dose warrants hospital-level care and evaluate if its severity correlates with the underlying condition.

Background And Objective: In the US military, traumatic brain injury (TBI) is of distinct importance, at home and in the deployed setting, and is considered a "signature injury of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq." Since 2000, an estimated 468 424 service members (SMs) have been diagnosed with at least one TBI. We examined the clinical trajectories of a group of 18 comorbidities before and after a military-sustained mild TBI (mTBI).

Background: Peripheral neuropathy is associated with amputation risk among patients with diabetes mellitus and chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). Detection of peripheral neuropathy may help identify those who are at an increased risk, but the predictive ability of the screening tool used in patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) needs to be more clearly defined.

Methods: Patients referred to vascular surgery clinic for PAD were recruited from a single center.
