The objective of the present work was to detect and elucidate effects of a single factor (gas pressure) responsible for the threshold levels of stapedius reflex. It was shown that the threshold reflexes were recorded at 105 dB SPL when the gas pressure in the external auditory meatus decreased by 150-200 pPa against the atmospheric pressure and when it increased by 100-150 pPa. These effects can be accounted for by the reduced compliance of the tympanic membrane and different changes in the state of the auditory ossicles undergoing compression and tension.

The objective of the present work was to elucidate the patterns and mechanisms underlying the changes of gas pressure in the middle ear during the operation of stapedoplasty with a view to the application of the data obtained for objective recording of the stapedial reflex at the time of surgical intervention. Ten subjects with the unaffected hearing function were recruited for the study. Tympanometry was carried out at one-minute intervals starting from the onset of feeding nitrogen monooxide till the completion of septoplasty.

The excessive pressure in the middle ear (up to 500 daPa) was compensated by the administration of an additional air volume (1 liter) into the AA220 impedance meter pneumatic circuit. A syringe was used to measure variations of pressure in the new pneumatic circuit.

We examined a total of 186 patients with stage I-IV chronic arterial ischaemia of the lower extremities using the following methods: computer-assisted TV microscopy of the vessels of the conjunctiva of the eyeball and of the skin of the lower limbs, laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) and transcutaneous determination of oxygen tension. Revealed were: spastic, congestive, Presented herein are the findings of studying the peculiarities of the systemic and regional haemodynamics in patients with obliterating atherosclerosis of the arteries of the lower limbs.

Results of treatment of 355 patients with chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs were analyzed. In 169 patients with postthrombophlebitic disease, in 38 patients with postthrombophlebitic trophic ulcers and in 43 patients with varicose trophic ulcers the lymphotropic therapy was used (the study group). Control group consisted of 105 patients treated with traditional methods.
