The freezing tolerance of Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh. was studied in relation to functioning of the ethylene signaling pathway.

The reaction of 2-(1-benzotriazol-1-yl)acetic acid (HBTA; CHNO) and mono-ethano-lamine (MEA; CHNO) with CuCl·2HO resulted in the formation of the title complex, [Cu(CHNO)(CHNO)] or [Cu(BTA)(MEA)]. Its asymmetric unit comprises one BTA anion coordin-ating to the Cu cation (site symmetry ) through the carboxyl O atom, and one MEA ligand chelating the metal cation by two heteroatoms (O and N). The equatorial Cu-O and Cu-N bond lengths are similar at 2.

[The efficacy of the moisture and warmed CO(2) for laparoscopic surgery].

A prospective, randomized study comparing 150 patients undergoing laparoscopic operations (110 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholesystectomy and 40 patients laparoscopic fundoplication) with standard CO2 insufflation vs those receiving warmed, humidified CO2 was performed. All patients were randomized into 2 groups - 84 receiving standard CO2 insufflation (control group) and 66 receiving warmed, humidified CO2 (main group). Main variables included patient core temperature, postoperative pain, analgesic requirements and other postoperative dates.

A new polymorph of 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)acetic acid.

A new polymorph of 2-(benzotriazol-2-yl)acetic acid, C(8)H(7)N(3)O(2), crystallizes in the space group C2/c (Z = 8). The non-planar mol-ecule has a synplanar conformation of the carb-oxy group. The crystal structure features helices parallel to the b axis sustained by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding which are similar to those in the known polymorph [Giordano & Zagari (1978 ▶).

[Prognostic factors in the treatment of the bile duct injuries and strictures].

To describe the prognostic factors after surgical reconstruction data. were collected prospectively on 60 patients treated at the Scientific Center of Surgery named after M.Topchubashov and N5 City Hospital with major bile duct injuries and postoperative bile duct strictures between 2000 and 2009.
