Article Synopsis
  • * The study reviews how different types of ncRNAs, like miRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs, influence cancer cell behaviors, including survival, growth, and metastasis, by modulating cellular processes such as CDK activity and the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.
  • * It also highlights the potential of ncRNAs as markers for cancer prognosis and as targets for new therapies, suggesting that a deeper understanding of their regulatory roles could enhance cancer treatment and research.

Spatiotemporal organization of individuals within growing bacterial colonies is a key determinant of intraspecific interactions and colony-scale heterogeneities. The evolving cellular distribution, in relation to the genealogical lineage, is thus central to our understanding of bacterial fate across scales. Yet, how bacteria self-organize genealogically as a colony expands has remained unknown.

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) significantly interfere with immunotherapy, leading to challenges such as low response rates and acquired resistance. PD-L1 expression is associated with the CSC population's overexpression of CD44. Mounting evidence suggests that the breast cancer stem cell (BCSC) marker CD44 and the immune checkpoint PD-L1 contribute to treatment failure through their networks.
