Severe burns pose significant threats to patient well-being, characterized by pain, inflammation, bacterial infection, and extended recovery periods. While exosome-loaded hydrogels have demonstrated considerable promise in wound healing, current formulations often fall short of achieving optimal therapeutic efficacy for burn wounds due to challenges related to their adaptability to wound shape and limited anti-bacterial capabilities. In this study a novel exosome laden sprayable thermosensitive polysaccharide-based hydrogel (ADA-aPF127@LL18/Exo) comprising alginate dialdehyde (ADA) and aminated Pluronic F127 (aPF127) was fabricated via Schiff base reaction.

Biological soil amendments of animal origin (BSAAO) are a source of foodborne pathogens that can contaminate fresh produce. This study evaluated the survival of E. coli over 140 d in agricultural soils amended with composted poultry litter (PL), heat-treated poultry pellets (HTPP), or unamended (UN) in Florida (FL) and Georgia (GA).

A simple, tailor-made, novel chemosensor based on 1,10-phenanthroline Schiff base incorporating N, N-Diethylamino salicylaldehyde (1) was designed and synthesized. The sensing ability of chemosensor 1 was tested via colorimetric, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Chemosensor 1 could effectively and specifically detect diethylchlorophosphate (DCP) in acetonitrile displaying naked eye colour change from pale yellow to dark yellow while fluorogenic colour changes from blue to pink fluorescence (365 nm UV lamp irradiation).

Background: In the context of the increasing number and proportion of population aged 60 years or more in India, it is imperative to understand their health needs for ensuring healthy ageing.

Methods: Using data from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2019, we identified the top ten causes of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years of life lost (YLLs), and years lived with disability (YLDs) disaggregated by sex and age groups (60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years, 75-79 years, and ≥ 80 years) for India in 2019. We analysed the proportional contribution of individual causes to the total DALYs due to communicable diseases (CMNNDs), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and injuries disaggregated by age and sex.

Constrictive pericarditis is a rare complication after cardiac surgery. It is mostly seen in adults. We report a case of constrictive pericarditis in a 3-year-old child with right ventricular dysfunction after permanent pacemaker implantation during infancy for congenital complete heart block.
