Food hoarding is a behavioral adaptation of some herbivores to manage food availability through time and space. In strongly seasonal environments, where summer growing seasons are short relative to winter, an earlier start to hoarding should increase the amount of vegetation stored for winter and improve subsequent survival. We examined hoarding behavior ('haying') and its impact on survival for a small alpine lagomorph, the collared pika (Ochotona collaris) in Yukon, Canada.

The effects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and aging were compared on tests of simple and complex reaction time (RT). Simple RT was not significantly affected by aging or TBI. TBI patients, however, tended to be slower on Simple RT tasks, and had a larger standard deviation.

In the part II of an epidemiological study on tardive dyskinesia performed on the same sample of 332 chronic schizophrenic patients (142 males and 190 females), the authors come to the conclusion that the prevalence of tardive dyskinesia is significantly higher if the mean age was higher at the beginning of treatment with sedative or incisive neuroleptics, their combinations (cocktails) and added antiparkinsonian drugs. Age seems to be the most important factor in the prevalence of tardive dyskinesia. The mean longer duration of "incisive" free intervals significantly decreases the prevalence of tardive dyskinesia.
