Septic Arthritis of the Atlanto-Occipital Joint Caused By S. Intermedius in a 5-Year-Old Girl: A Case Report.

Septic arthritis of the atlanto-occipital joint caused by Streptococcus intermedius is extremely rare. We present the first case report of this entity in a fully immunocompetent 5-year-old girl. The magnetic resonance imaging and blood tests were consistent with septic arthritis, so she started empirical antibiotic therapy.

Urban environment and well-being: cross-cultural studies on Perceived Residential Environment Quality Indicators (PREQIs).

Architectural and environmental psychology literature has shown the importance of urban design in provoking stress feelings or enhancing well-being and quality of life. The aim of this contribution is to show the main results of a set of cross-cultural survey studies concerning the perceived quality of urban features at the neighbourhood level. Neuropsychological follow-up of parkinsonian patients with and without cognitive impairment.

In order to evaluate possible progression in the severity of their cognitive impairment, 34 parkinsonians with intellectual impairment were followed longitudinally for 7 years. Each patient was matched for age, sex, severity and duration of illness, and pharmacological treatment, with a parkinsonian patient without cognitive impairment. Results suggest that cognitive deficits are not static but rather there is a progression in the severity.
