Water saturation plays a vital role in calculating the volume of hydrocarbon in reservoirs and defining the net pay. It is also essential for designing the well completion. Innacurate water saturation calculation can lead to poor decision-making, significantly affecting the reservoir's development and production, potentially resulting in reduced hydrocarbon oil recovery.

Background: Fractures of the distal humerus are a common fragility fracture in older adults. The purpose of this study was to systematically review the literature to produce pooled estimates of the outcomes of treatment using total elbow arthroplasty (TEA), open reduction and locking plate fixation (ORIF), hemiarthroplasty or with conservative management.

Methods: A systematic review of PUBMED and EMBASE databases was conducted for studies reporting outcomes of intra-articular fractures in older adults.

Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis and Guillain-Barré syndrome refer to post-infectious or post-vaccination inflammatory demyelinating disorders of central and peripheral nervous system, respectively. We report the case of a 60-year-old male patient presenting with irritability, gait difficulty, asymmetric quadriparesis (mostly in his left extremities), distal sensory loss for pain and temperature in left limbs, and reduced tendon reflexes in his upper limbs and absent in his lower limbs, following an upper respiratory tract infection, 3 weeks earlier. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed abnormal T2 signal and peripherally enhancing lesions in hemispheres, brainstem, and cerebellum.

Intra-thymic T cell development is coordinated by the regulatory actions of SATB1 genome organizer. In this report, we show that SATB1 is involved in the regulation of transcription and splicing, both of which displayed deregulation in knockout murine thymocytes. More importantly, we characterized a novel SATB1 protein isoform and described its distinct biophysical behavior, implicating potential functional differences compared to the commonly studied isoform.

This study compared the effect of undifferentiated adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) vs tacrolimus (FK506) in peripheral nerve regeneration in a rat sciatic nerve complete transection model. Forty Wistar rats were equally distributed in four groups. In the SHAM surgery group, the sciatic nerve was exposed and no further intervention was done.
