Data-centric approach for instance segmentation in optical waste sorting.

Computer vision systems have been integrated into facilities dealing with the sorting of household waste. This solution allows for the sorting efficiency improvement and cost reduction. However, challenges associated with the poor annotation quality of existing waste segmentation datasets, unsuitable environment for recognition on a conveyor belt, or limited data for creating an effective and cost-efficient sorting system using visible range cameras significantly limit the application efficiency of computer vision systems.

[The evaluation of the ratio of free and total serum prostate-specific antigen as an additional method in the diagnosis of prostatic cancer].

The conventional method of prostatic cancer monitoring by determination of serum prostatic specific antigen (PSA) was compared to the method of free-to-total PSA correlation. The latter proved more informative concerning prostatic cancer.

[The conservative treatment of kidney cancer in middle-aged and elderly patients].

Late results of conservative management were investigated in 102 patients with renal carcinoma. Their ages were 60 to 90. A symptomatologic therapy alone was used in the management of 60 patients, 38 were treated with hydroxyprogesterone capronate and 4 with nolvadex.
