New cassava germplasm for food and nutritional security in Central Africa.

Cassava is a key food security crop in Central Africa, but its production depends largely on the use of local farmers' varieties characterized by inherently low yield which is compounded by generally high susceptibility to various growth and yield-limiting pests and diseases. Improved cassava genotypes have demonstrated the potential to substantially improve cassava's contribution to food security and the development of the cassava industry and the improvement of nutrition status elsewhere in Western Africa. Eleven improved cassava genotypes were compared with a local landrace (LMR) used as a check under field conditions over two years in eight locations, grouped in four agro-ecologies in Cameroon.

Demographic, clinical and laboratory characteristics of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis in Turkey: Turkish Society of Nephrology-Glomerular Diseases (TSN-GOLD) Working Group.

Background: In our study, diagnostic and demographic characteristics of patients diagnosed with RPGN by biopsy, clinical and laboratory findings in our country were investigated.

Methods: Data were obtained from the Turkish Society of Nephrology Glomerular Diseases (TSN-GOLD) Working Group database. Demographic characteristics, indications for biopsy, diagnosis of the glomerular diseases, comorbidities, laboratory and biopsy findings of all patients were recorded.

Gastric Cancer, Hemophilia A and Angiodysplasia - An Unreported Association with Clinical Implications in a Patient with Digestive Hemorrhage.

Gastric cancer is a rare cause of upper digestive hemorrhage. Associated co-morbidities may have a detrimental effect on both early and long-term outcomes after surgery for gastric cancer. Association of gastric adenocarcinoma with hemophilia A and angiodysplasia was not previously reported, and the impact on postoperative outcome is not known.
