Restoring stream ecosystem integrity by removing unused or derelict dams has become a priority for watershed conservation globally. However, efforts to restore connectivity are constrained by the availability of accurate dam inventories which often overlook smaller unmapped riverine dams. Here we develop and test a machine learning approach to identify unmapped dams using a combination of publicly available topographic and geospatial habitat data.

Intrathecal baclofen pumps are commonly used in pediatric patients with spastic cerebral palsy. Baclofen binds to γ-aminobutyric acid receptors to inhibit both monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes at the spinal cord level. The blockade stops the release of excitatory transmitters and thereby decreases muscle contraction.

Background: Accurate prevalence figures estimating the number of survivors of poliomyelitis (disease causing acute flaccid paralysis) following poliovirus infection are not available. We aim to undertake a systematic review of all literature concerning the prevalence of survivors of poliomyelitis.

Methods: Electronic databases were searched from 1900 up to May 2016 for peer-reviewed studies using a population-based approach witha defined denominator and some form of diagnostic or clinical verification of polio.

Objective: The objective of the study was to report the toxicity of phosphine gas after a residential fumigation that resulted in fatal poisoning of a 15-month-old toddler and her 4-year-old sibling.

Methods: This is a case report and a review of literature.

Results: A family of 6 members was exposed to phosphine gas after their yard was treated with aluminum phosphide for a rodent infestation.
