Its usefulness to predict complications after 1-level or 2-level anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) has not been studied extensively.
Purpose: We aimed to assess the usefulness of the mFI-5 in 1-level or 2-level ACDF surgery by asking the following questions: (1) Is the mFI-5 a reliable tool to predict complications after 1-level or 2-level ACDF? (2) Is the mFI-5 useful in predicting prolonged hospital stay after 1-level or 2-level ACDF? (3) Is the mFI-5 useful in predicting readmission after 1-level or 2-level ACDF?
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of the medical records of patients who underwent 1-level or 2-level ACDF at our institution.
Summary Of Background Data: Although pseudoangina is most commonly caused by cervical disc herniation, several cases have been described where thoracic herniation produced symptoms of pseudoangina. If thoracic herniation can produce angina-like pain, then it is important to consider whether pathology of the thoracolumbar spine, in general, can trigger false pain syndromes distinct from pseudoangina.
Objective: We seek to provide the most comprehensive study regarding the diagnosis and treatment of spinal conditions causing false pain syndromes.

Methods: 4 important studies about OF that may affect current clinical practice of spinal surgeons were selected and reviewed with the aim of providing clinical recommendations to streamline the journey of research into clinical practice.
