Importance: Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) has been described to typically occur during the early hours of life (HOL); however, the exact time of onset is still unknown.

Objective: To investigate the temporal distribution of IVH reported in very preterm neonates.

Data Sources: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were searched on May 9, 2024.

Extreme heterogeneity exists in the hypersensitive stress response exhibited by the dystrophin-deficient mdx mouse model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Because stress hypersensitivity can impact dystrophic phenotypes, this research aimed to understand the peripheral pathways driving this inter-individual variability. Male and female mdx mice were phenotypically stratified into "stress-resistant" or "stress-sensitive" groups based on their response to two laboratory stressors.

Background: Current paediatric cancer care requires innovative approaches to predict prognosis that facilitates personalised stratification, yet studies on the performance, composition and limitations of contemporary prognostic models are lacking. We aimed to compare the accuracy of traditional and advanced prognostic models.

Methods: A systematic search for this systematic review and meta-analysis (CRTN42022370251) was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library databases on 28 June 2024.

The community of microorganisms colonizing the gut changes during the first postnatal years of life. This ecosystem, henceforth described as the microbiome, modulates infant physiology and health, but uncertainty remains about the significance of variation in microbiome composition and function. Some may be tolerable, yet some microbiomes may be less healthy than others.

Background: The role of radiolytic oxygen consumption for the in-vitro "Ultra-High Dose Rate" (UHDR) sparing and in-vivo FLASH effect is subject to active debate, but data on key dependencies such as the radiation quality are lacking.

Purpose: The influence of "dose-averaged Linear Energy Transfer" (LETd) and dose rate on radiolytic oxygen consumption was investigated by monitoring the oxygen concentration during irradiation with electrons, protons, helium, carbon, and oxygen ions at UHDR and "Standard Dose Rates" (SDR).

Methods: Sealed "Bovine Serum Albumin" (BSA) 5% samples were exposed to 15 Gy of electrons and protons, and for the first time helium, carbon, and oxygen ions with LETd values of 1, 5.
