Lithium salts can impair the central nervous system and kidney function and disturb the biological oxidation as well as desamidization of biologically active amines. The suggested MAC for lithium and its salts in the air of working area is 0.05 mg/m3 (aerosol, 2nd jeopardy grade).

[Permissible level of laser radiation of wavelength 10.6 microns].

In a four-month experiment with 102 male rabbits and 42 HRS/U mice and 30 days after termination thereof, study was made of local and general response of an organism to the effect of laser radiation (10.6 microns wave length and energy exposition 1/7 of the threshold). The radiation tolerance level was estimated.

[Effect of discontinuous short-wave electromagnetic field irradiation on the state of the endocrine glands].

A study was made of the effect of interrupted EMF SW of 500 and 250 V/m on endocrine glands of male rats. The following changes were noted: activation of neurosecretion in hypothalamus, inhibition of adrenocorticotropic and gonadotropic functions of hypophysis and adrenal cortex, degenerative and dystrophic changes in testes. The observed disorders were aggravated as the intensity of the field and duration of exposure increased.
