Ingestion of foreign bodies is common in critical practice. Thankfully, most of these objects will pass without complications; however, sharp and metallic objects can cause severe complications like ulcers and perforation. Perforation of the gastrointestinal tract is rare; however, once it happens, prompt treatment is needed to prevent dreadful complications.

Zwitterionic, cationic, and anionic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were investigated in freshwater sediments of Canada, including sites impacted by aqueous film-forming foams (AFFFs). The first step of the project involved optimizing the extraction method with equilibrated sediment-water-AFFF samples. The analytical method had acceptable linearity, accuracy, and precision in the sediment matrix, and was further validated with NIST SRM 1936.

A Delphi panel is a methodology used to generate consensus among experts. The development of a participatory Delphi approach consists of including the research population in the design and conduct of the research. It involves panelists in the preparation of an open-ended questionnaire as well as in the responding process.
