Catastrophic visceral involvement secondary to de novo systemic vasculitis in a renal transplant recipient.

De novo systemic vasculitis after renal transplant is a rare complication. We report a patient who developed rapid, catastrophic necrotizing vasculitis of the gastrointestinal tract 11 months after renal transplant. A 60-year-old man was admitted for persistent pain in the right abdomen and mild intestinal hemorrhage.
