Measuring teachers' readiness to use ICT before the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy.

This study seeks to measure teachers' readiness to use ICT in Italy by exploiting the data collected by the National Institute for the evaluation of education and training system (INVALSI) in 2018-2019. We propose a fuzzy set approach to provide a multidimensional picture of how much teachers were ready to integrate ICTs into educational practice. In addition, we use empirical bootstrap intervals to test whether significant differences exist in teacher readiness over several personal and socioeconomic characteristics.

The transmission of health across 7 generations in China, 1789-1906.

We study the intergenerational transmission of health using registered data from China between 1789 and 1906. We first document the intergenerational correlations in lifespans, and we find much higher correlations for mothers, compared to fathers. We then compare children born from brother and twin fathers, and the intergenerational transmission from fathers becomes weaker and is likely to be mostly driven by genetic factors.

Albumin losses during hemodiafiltration: all dialyzers are not created equal - a case report.

Background: Online hemodiafiltration (OL-HDF) is associated with better removal of both small and middle molecules and might improve survival compared to conventional hemodialysis (HD). Nevertheless, hemodiafiltration (HDF) can lead to an increase in albumin loss across the dialyzer, especially with high permeability membrane and high convective volume (CV). We present the case of a patient treated by OL-HDF who developed severe hypoalbuminemia resulting from massive albumin loss into dialysate.

Azathioprine hypersensitivity syndrome: a case report.

We report here the case of a 51-year-old man presenting to the Emergency Department with a febrile cutaneous eruption with diffuse arthralgia 10 days after the onset of azathioprine therapy. The clinical examination did not reveal any inflammatory syndrome and the results of all bacteriological tests were negative. A skin biopsy was performed, which revealed a granulocytary pustula with superficial dermal oedema and a neutrophil infiltration without sign of vasculitis.
