The advancement of technology has revolutionized education, particularly through video-based learning. In response, the Good Practices in Animal Research (BPEA, "Boas Práticas em Experimentação Animal" in Portuguese) platform was established as a contemporary educational tool for training in laboratory rodent experimental techniques. Designed to replace traditional animal-centered teaching methods, BPEA provided scientifically accurate video content tailored for veterinary medicine students.

The approach consists of associating rotation data of the manipulated object with behavioral measures, such as eye tracking, to make better inferences about the underlying cognitive processes. The task consists of displaying two identical models of the same 3D object (a molecule), presented on a computer screen: a rotating, interactive object (iObj) and a static, target object (tObj).

The application of an in vitro gastrointestinal digestion model to study the degree of disintegration and release of proteins with expressed bioactivities from wild and cultivated and was proposed in this study. Macroalgae from the Gulf of St Lawrence, Canada, were submitted to digestive transit times of 2 (oral), 60 (gastric) and 120 (duodenal) minutes.

Although emulsion PCR used in ddPCR confers a partial mitigation to inhibition due to the high number of reactions for a single sample (between 10K and 20K), it is not impervious to it. Our results showed that inhibition impacts the amplitude of fluorescence in positive droplets with a different intensity among rivers.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAir pollution has been linked to an increased risk of several respiratory diseases in children, especially respiratory tract infections. The present study aims to evaluate the association between pediatric emergency department (PED) presentations for bronchiolitis and air pollution. PED presentations due to bronchiolitis in children aged less than 1 year were retrospectively collected from 2007 to 2018 in Padova, Italy, together with daily environmental data.
