Aim: To study the Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) and metabolic assessment in 33 children affected with type 1 diabetes (18 males, 15 females; mean age 10.3 years).
Methods And Results: We used the Child Health Questionnaire-Parental Form 50 items (CHQ-PF50), measurements of metabolic control and we related them to patient management and family status.
Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of monosymptomatic nocturnal enuresis (MNE) in a group of children and adolescents prior to the onset of type 1 diabetes (Dt1).
Material And Methods: We considered 88 patients with Dt1 with a mean age of 15.2 years over a period of 3 years.
Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate biocompatibility of anew polystyrene-type adsorbent (BetaSorb) designed for hemoperfusion, using second-level biomolecular analyses. The device has recently been developed to enhance beta2-microglobulin removal during hemodialysis. Molecular structure and chemical modifications of the surface beads of this cartridge should prevent exposure of dense hydrophobic surface sites to proteins, and avoid the major drawbacks of previous polystyrene-type adsorbent materials.
