Hirsutism is a common endocrine complaint affecting about 10 percent of women. It may be caused by multiple etiologies including adrenal and ovarian disorders. Usually, it is a result of a benign entity such as PCOs and idiopathic hirsutism.

A case of benign inflammatory pseudotumor of the spleen is described in a 71-year-old man who presented with left upper quadrant pain and anemia. Definitive diagnosis was made by a combination of microscopic examination with immunohistochemical stains and flow cytometry studies. To our knowledge this is only the 24th reported case of inflammatory pseudotumor involving the spleen.

An endobronchial tumor, resected from a 77-year-old man, had an endometrioid histologic pattern consistent with fetal adenocarcinoma. A distinctive feature of the neoplasm was prominent neuroendocrine differentiation, including single, discrete neuroendocrine cells; aggregates of neuroendocrine cells resembling miniature carcinoid tumors; and a single focus of undifferentiated small cell carcinoma. Immunohistochemical staining of neuroendocrine cells revealed the presence of neuron-specific enolase, chromogranin, somatostatin, insulin, and serotonin.
